Steph's Post-partum training log
July 1
Day 10 post-partum
20 min Row @Z1 (about a 2:30 split)
then...
4x
5 push-ups
2-3 kipping pull-ups
I could barely do 5 push-ups.
July 2
15 min Airdyne @Z1
5ish minutes row @Z1
(had to stop because of crying baby)
July 4
5 rounds (not for time)
100m run
10 hang power cleans @85#
AMSAP FLR
took about 10 min. Planks on rings were 20-25s each. Challenging to say the least. Power cleans felt ok, but i'm really going to have to focus on getting my technique back.
July 9
High bar back squat
5 @45, 65, 95, 115
3@135
These were tough. I haven't done high bar in a LONG time, and 135 felt really heavy. I noticed that my knees are caving in a lot on the way up. Probably due to structural changes in my body. Need to remember to do proper breathing as well... it's been a long time... Frankly, I'm a little surprised and sad at how heavy everything felt. I know that my body went through some serious stuff, but since I was squatting heavy during my pregnancy, I thought that I wouldn't have lost so much ground. Maybe it's just because it's so soon...
then...
5x for reps
30s KBS @44#
30s jumping back squats @33#
1 min front plank
Rest 90s
got 115 kbs swings and 8-9 squats per round. Managed planks pretty well, usually with one break in the middle. Squats were hard. Good grief...
July 11
Did some pull up negatives and front planks
+
EMOM 12min (5 min rest) then 8 more min
7 thrusters @65#
Row 100m fast
Thrusters were alarmingly hard. For the last 2 rounds I only did 5. I had to take a break after minute 12 because I was feeling dizzy.
Row sprints were ok. Not that fast for me, but around 1:45-1:48 splits... again, dizziness was prevalent.
